The Board of Outreach is organized by the Wellesley Village Church in order to support congregation members to act on their interest in service. We provide opportunities for adults and children to make a difference in the greater community. We are guided by the following principles:
- Reach out to all God's Kingdom without regard for ancestries, beliefs, or borders.
- Communicate service opportunities to the church community and recognize the achievements of volunteers and service organizations.
- Encourage intergenerational participation in outreach to bring about personal transformation.
- Give financial support to deserving organizations.
- Provide leadership in supporting outreach efforts within the church community.
What Our Board Does
The Board of Outreach provides opportunities and invites participation from members of the congregation:
| Operate a Volunteer Clearinghouse We provide information on organizations that seek volunteers to fulfill their missions. These organizations are both local and international, and seek volunteers of all ages on a regular or on an occasional basis. | Make Financial Grants We evaluate all requests for financial support submitted to the Village Church and provide funds to worthy organizations. | Coordinate the Collection of Donated Goods Many organizations we support have very specific needs. We help them to collect items that have been specifically requested, as well as consolidate cash donations where appropriate. Click here to learn what items are currently needed. |

| Facilitate New Outreach Ministries Many of the most exciting ministries we support originated as a personal passion of a member of the church.
